Biography

Dr. Aamir Ali, a board-certified physician, joined Capital Digestive Care after a noteworthy 13-year tenure in clinical academia at George Washington University. During his time at GWU, Dr. Ali made significant contributions, including authoring over 30 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and abstracts. His dedication to patient care and teaching earned him consistent recognition. Specializing in areas such as colon cancer screening, GERD, complex inflammatory bowel disease, motility disorders, and liver disease, Dr. Ali brings cutting-edge expertise to his new role. Furthermore, he will actively participate in advancing clinical research trials at Capital Digestive Care, further enhancing patient care and treatment options.

Dr. Ali earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine, as well as a fellowship in Gastroenterology at George Washington University. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Gastrointestinal Motility at the Johns Hopkins University. ​

​Over the past 10 years, Dr. Ali has been recognized consistently by his peers as a “Top Doctor” in Washingtonian Magazine.
