Biography

Dr. Whitney Brooks is a board-certified, fellowship-trained gastroenterologist. She specializes in the treatment and management of general gastroenterology diseases. She seeks to partner with each patient by providing information and compassionate communication. 

She has particular interest in the following conditions:  

  • General gastroenterology 
  • Irritable bowel syndrome 
  • Functional bowel disorders 

Dr. Brooks earned her bachelor’s degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, followed by her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. She completed residency training, as well as a fellowship in gastroenterology, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. 

“I strive to communicate with my patients in an open and direct way, with compassion,” Dr. Brooks said. “I provide education and partner with them on their healthcare decisions.” 

In addition to her gastroenterology practice, Dr. Brooks serves as an assistant professor of clinical internal medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, where she helps to train the next generation of doctors.
