Biography
Vickie Doscher, MSN, APRN, NP is driven to help improve the lives and health of others by building relationships and providing holistic care. Her practice is built on listening to her patients and meeting them where they are in their health journeys.
Vickie is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP) who has been in practice since 2013 as an FNP and has been a nurse since 2003. She provides general gastroenterology (GI) care using a holistic methodology. Her approach to patient care is based on addressing the patient’s concerns with compassion and understanding. She aims to treat her patients as if they were members of her own family.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, TX. After spending nine years as a nurse, Vickie completed her Master of Science in nursing with a family nurse practitioner specialization at Hampton University School of Nursing in Hampton, VA.
“My goal is to help patients achieve their health goals and improve their overall well-being,” Vickie said. “I do that by building long-lasting relationships with my patients that has a foundation of trust and support.”
Before joining Capital Digestive Care, Vickie worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on pulmonary and critical care, sleep medicine, and cardiothoracic care. Most recently, she was a palliative care nurse practitioner at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center in Chesapeake, VA. She also served as principal investigator of the AIRWISE study at Chesapeake Regional.
When she is not working, Vickie enjoys spending time with her family. She especially loves taking family vacations to the beach or to the mountains.
