Biography

Dr. Gary Payman is a board-certified, fellowship-trained gastroenterologist. He spends time listening to his patients and encourages them to express their concerns and needs. 

He has particular interest in the following conditions and procedures:  

  • Colorectal cancer 
  • GERD 
  • Constipation 
  • Occult GI bleeding 
  • Inflammatory bowel disease 
  • Hepatology 
  • ERCP 

After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, Dr. Payman completed his medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He completed residency training and a gastroenterology fellowship at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to his gastroenterology practice, Dr. Payman serves as an assistant professor of clinical internal medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. 

Dr. Payman enjoys spending his free time gardening, cooking, and being a grilllmaster. The rest of his free time is spent as a baseball dad for his two sons.
