Biography
Elizabeth Thomas, CRNP, was inspired to become a healthcare provider after watching and admiring the work of the compassionate professionals who cared for her grandmother as she spent time in hospice care in later life. Today, Elizabeth is a certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP) who works with her patients to help them achieve their health goals and improve their overall well-being.
Being a nurse practitioner gives her the opportunity to establish long-lasting relationships with her patients that are built on trust. Elizabeth’s approach to patient care is compassionate and centered around addressing the patient’s concerns. She is comfortable working within all areas of gastroenterology and providing general GI care.
Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing with a minor in chronic illness from James Madison University, followed by a Master of Science in nursing with a family nurse practitioner specialization from Marymount University. Before joining Capital Digestive Care, Elizabeth worked in the medical intensive care unit at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.
“I work to establish trust and a good rapport by listening to the patient, being accessible, and allowing for open communication,” Elizabeth said. “After patients have their appointments, I want them to leave feeling that all of their questions were answered and that they received the best possible care.”
Elizabeth was born and raised in Alexandria, VA. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, and traveling. She also loves trying new restaurants and cheering on the DC-area sports teams.
