Dr. Chachu is a board‑certified gastroenterologist with specialized expertise in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Dr. Chachu takes time to understand her patients and to offer treatment options that fit their needs. She believes it’s important for patients to be involved in their own care and share in decision making. Dr. Chachu is motivated to help patients live the best life they can.

Before joining Capital Digestive Care, Dr. Chachu was an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at Duke University. She has also contributed to several national clinical guidelines that shape the current standard of care for IBD patients. She is a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).

Outside of the office, her hobbies include traveling, movies, museums, reading, and gardening.
