Biography

Dr. Anshu Mahajan is a fellowship-trained gastroenterologist. She seeks to understand each patient’s needs and values, engaging them in developing the best care plan for their condition and lifestyle. 

She has particular interest in the following conditions:  

  • Women’s health 
  • Celiac disease 
  • Liver disease 
  • Functional gastrointestinal disorders 
  • Irritable bowel syndrome 
  • Inflammatory bowel disease   

Dr. Mahajan earned her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. She completed residency training and a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. She is an active researcher who has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national meetings.  

In addition to her gastroenterology practice, Dr. Mahajan serves as an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins Hospital and West Virginia University. 

 Outside the office, Dr. Mahajan loves spending time with her husband and children.
