Capital Digestive Care is pleased to announce the addition of Liz Warness, FNP-BC, to our Harbour View and Madison Building offices in Suffolk, VA. Her journey into healthcare began after earning her bachelor’s degree and subsequently working as an office manager in a medical practice. While there, she found herself drawn to direct patient care. Now a healthcare provider herself, she is passionate about patient education.
Today, Liz is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who strives to create a safe, comfortable environment for her patients, where they feel heard regarding their medical concerns. She provides general gastroenterology (GI) care.
Liz earned a bachelor of science in health administration from James Madison University, followed by a second bachelor’s degree, this time in nursing, from Sentara College of Health Sciences. She then went on to earn a master of science in nursing from Old Dominion University.
“My approach to patient care is grounded in evidence-based practice and centered on each individual patient’s unique needs,” she said. “I strive to empower patients through a collaborative partnership – working together to define meaningful treatment goals and creating personalized care plans that align with patients’ lifestyles, preferences, and health objectives.”
Before joining Capital Digestive Care, Liz gained experience in orthopedic/trauma medical-surgical nursing as a registered nurse. She graduated at the top of her class in her master’s program, where she also gained GI experience. She is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
When she is not working, Liz likes to spend time with her husband, two children, and dog. She also enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, cooking, and reading.
