Capital Digestive Care’s Pathology Laboratory has earned a renewed accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP). This renewal is based on the results of the CAP’s latest on-site inspection and marks the third time the lab has won the agency's seal-of-approval. Under the leadership of Dr. Jeffrey Baybick, the Pathology Laboratory is staffed by pathologists specializing in biopsy interpretation of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. "Consistently operating at this high level is only possible due to our highly conscientious and dedicated laboratory staff," says Dr. Baybick. As part of the Capital Digestive Care family, the Pathology Laboratory helps to provide patients with high-value, optimized care.
CAP's Laboratory Accreditation Program is the highest accrediting agency for laboratory work in the United States. It is based on rigorous standards and uses peer-based teams of practicing laboratory professionals as inspectors. It helps laboratories to ensure scientifically-endorsed guidelines, as well as the accuracy of test results and patient diagnoses.
