Chevy Chase Clinical Research

About Us

Chevy Chase Clinical Research is the largest of its kind in the region with approximately 90,000 patients in its' database. Established in 1996 as part of Affiliated Research Centers, it is now an independent research site.  More than 300 studies have been conducted in all areas of Gastroenterology and some areas of Internal Medicine.  The majority of studies are Phase II and Phase III, although Phase I and Phase IV studies have been conducted as well, and program experience includes device trials, instrument validation and patient questionnaire studies, such as the Functional Dyspepsia Questionanaire.

Under the direction of Medical Director, Robert Hardi, MD, AGAF, CPI areas of clinical expertise cover more than 25 digestive and general health conditions.  Dr. Hardi, Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine and a Certified Principal Investigator, has served as Principal Investigator on almost 300 studies.  The medical staff includes eight physician sub-investigators,  one physician assistant sub-investigator, three full-time Registered Nurse Coordinators, also certified as Certified Clinical Research Coordinators (CCRC) and one program coordinator.

For patients enrolled in the research program, all trial related tests and procedures are provided at no charge to the patient or their insurance company and, generally, a stipend is provided to cover other incremental expenses, such as, parking and transportation.
